    Holiday self-care tips

    Stick to your sleeping schedule
Sleep is important to your physical and mental health. Getting the right amount of sleep can help you cope with whatever the holidays may throw your way.

    Do something fun or relaxing
In between holiday tasks, ensure you’re taking time to unwind with a preferred activity – like reading a book, watching a holiday movie, or drinking a festive hot chocolate.

    Remember to exercise
It might seem harmless to skip your usual workout to fit in additional holiday activities, but what’s good for your bicep is good for your brain! Consider short workouts – like a 10 minute walk.

    Eat healthy & drink water
There may be tempting holiday treats to indulge in, but try to also maintain your healthy eating habits to support your mental health.

    Surround yourself with loved ones
Spend time with people that will help make your holiday fun and relaxing.

    Remember you
If you need to say “no” to someone or something to make time for your holiday self-care, remember it’s YOUR holiday too.

    Managing holiday stress

The stress response is the way our brain tells us we need to deal with a problem in our environment. If you find yourself needing to cope with stress during the holidays, check out our Understanding & managing the stress response resource for tips on building resiliency.

    Save the date

Mark your calendars for this year’s Mental Health Academy. This one-day seminar will feature dynamic leaders in the adolescent mental health field and provide educators with specific tools needed to better support students in their classrooms.
