Greetings Parents/Guardians,
November is here, Halloween is over and it is hard to believe that we will be planning Christmas events already!
At our last School Council meeting, I shared our 3 year plan for East Elementary and highlighted some of our goals for the upcoming year. As part of this process, we reviewed our Accountability Pillar Summary for 2017, which is the survey that our parents, teachers and grade 4-6 students take each spring. This survey is like our school report card and has a number of different categories that schools are rated on including:
Safe and Caring
Program of Studies
Education Quality
PAT Results
Work Preparation
Citizenship
Parental Involvement
School Improvement
I am happy to share that in all categories except one, we were at, or well above, the provincial average and East demonstrated improved results in these categories over the past three years. This truly is a testament to the wonderful environment that we have all created at East Elementary and the fantastic work that our students, staff, and families do at providing a culture of caring at our school. Way to go East!
