    Greetings Parents and Guardians,

June is upon us and what a journey this year was for our school, our community, and the world.  We all lived through a life altering event and I think we can all agree, that we won’t soon forget the pandemic.  Our world changed so much, yet some things did remain the same, like the importance of keeping our children in schools and engaged in learning.  I believe that our staff was truly lucky to be able to continue to work and learn with our students, both online and in classes. Together we travelled through lockdowns, quarantines, online schooling, and back into the classroom to finish (fingers crossed!!) our school year.  I can say with certainty I won’t miss this pandemic when it is over and I am so proud of our school community, students, and staff. We made it through this together!  Our students at East demonstrated commitment, resilience, and compassion and our school was an oasis of normalcy, despite all of the upheaval in society.  I would like to thank all of our parents, guardians, students, and staff for the work they did to ensure that our students’ needs were taken care of each day. This year was a challenging journey, but we all made it together.  You are all amazing!

I would also like to bid farewell to our wonderful grade 6 class as they continue their educational journey.  You are the leaders in our school and I am certain you will go on to lead and be successful next year in grade 7.  I know all of the staff will miss you and we are so proud of the amazing individuals you have become.  Good luck and be kind!

Finally, I wish you all a wonderful summer filled with the celebrations that you deserve.  I hope you have an opportunity to reconnect with all of your family and friends and enjoy all of those activities that you missed the past year. Bye for now but I will see you again soon!
