Miquelon Lake, Telus World of Science, ladybug release, beach volleyball court clean-up, Kinders graduation, fundraising book sale, Fun-Day. . . what a busy week! Congratulations to all the Kindergarteners on completing this important year of education. They celebrated with an graduation ceremony early this week. Grade 6s completed their final P.A.T. on Monday, and chose that day to celebrate their Battle of the Books win with a Pizza party. Being the sweet kids they are, they invited the Grade 5 team to join us. The rest of the week varied from helping out around the school, playing board games, and finishing projects, and Thursday, along with the Grade 5 class, helped clean up the beach volleyball courts in Lede Park in preparation for the Summer Games. They cleaned out approximately 15 L of stones from the sand. I’m sure the participants will appreciate that! The Grade 1s finished their fundraising campaign with a week long book sale in the Library. They final fundraising total was way over $800! What a success! The Grade 2s visited Miquelon Lake, and the Grade 3s visited Telus World of Science. All grades celebrated the last Friday of the school year with an afternoon of fun outside activities. Staff put together a variety of activities including bubbles, face painting, tug-of-war, q-tip soccer, hoola-hoops, to skipping. Parent Council arranged some watermelon snacks, and a surprise visit from the One Radio popsicle van! What a way to finish the last full week of the 2015 – 2016 school year!
